Instagram 101: How to Remove Yourself from a Tagged Photo on Instagram
Every morning I head on over to my gym to start storying away classes full of people dripping in sweat. This always makes me feel super awkward because it's not exactly the most photogenic time to take a picture, and if it was me, I would probably give that person a dirty look and hope they'd just eventually go away. It's my job to take a sweaty photo though, and when I post these pictures, it's also my job to tag these people for all the world to see. I try my best to make sure every picture is as flattering as possible, but sometimes ... well, especially when it comes to a group photo, it's not always going to be a picture that everybody likes.Don't Miss: How to Insert a Line Break in Your Instagram CaptionSo in all fairness, let me tell you how to remove yourself from an Instagram photo that you hate and that you are also publicly tagged in. There are two ways that you can do this. Let's start with the first way.

Method 1: Hide or Remove Tagged Photos IndividuallyFirst, find the photo on the Instagram account that you would prefer not to be tagged in. You can go to your profile page and tap on the Photos of You icon under your bio to quickly see all of the photos that you're currently tagged in รข€” even photos that you may never have realized that you are in.Tap on the photo you want to hide from your Photos of You tab that other people can see, or for which you want to remove the tag completely, then tap on it again to see your username pop up. Tap on your name and Instagram will provide you with some options. You can either show the post on your profile page under your Photos of You tab or you can hide it from that tab altogether.Don't Miss: How to View All the Posts You've Ever Liked on InstagramIf you wish to hide the tagged photo, then simply tap on "Hide from My Profile." The tagged post will no longer show up under the Photos of You tab on your IG page. This will hide the post from your followers or to anyone who's browsing your profile, but it will not remove the tag where you are originally mentioned. If you wish to remove yourself completely from the post, then tap on "More Options." You'll see the option to "Remove Me From Post." Removing yourself from the post will take away the tag and also hide the image from your Photos of You tab. The image will still be alive on the account where it's posted, but when someone taps on the photo to see who that sweaty person in the right-hand corner of the image is (aka me), well, they'll just have to use their imagination now won't they?

Method 2: Hide Tagged Photos en MasseIf you have a lot of tagged photos you want to hide, go back to your profile page and tap on the Photos of You icon again under your bio. This time, tap on the ellipsis in the top-right corner, then select the first option, which is "Hide Photos." From here, you can choose any or all photos that you are tagged in and want to remain hidden from your profile. Just hit "Hide Photos" one more time to confirm.Don't Miss: How to Keep People from Tagging You in Posts If you don't mind being tagged in photos but would rather pick and choose which of those tagged photos actually ends up in the Photos of You tab, you can select "Tagging Options" and change it from "Add Automatically" to "Add Manually," which gives you total control of what people see on your profile.Follow me on Instagram at @b3t.tina to see how I'm currently using these tips and tricks on my own profile page!Don't Miss: New Archive Feature Allows You to Hide, but Never Delete Your Shameful Photos on InstagramFollow Gadget Hacks on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube Follow WonderHowTo on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+
