How To: Wire an LED Police light bar system
This is my homemade led light system. The main unit has a total of 228 LED's, the corners are using super wide angle LED's to maximize visibility. There are also 48 LED mini lightbar, 5x 16 LED mini modules.The main controller is controlling the light bar as well as the individual lights. All 6 sets of the individual are selectable via a synchronized controller and can be set to either "flicker" or "flash". The video is made with the camera on my phone, so please forgive the quality. Tip #4: When wiring LED light bar relays or switches, fuse all positive side wires such as from the positive battery terminal to the light bar switch. The fuse rating should not correspond to the wire size but instead to the maximum current expected on that wire.

Connect your light bar directly to the vehicle battery or another DC voltage source. If you going to use a power supply, make sure its voltage output is within the light bar's specifications. Also, make sure it can supply the maximum current your light bar draws. Use a wire gauge that matches or exceeds the maximum current of your LED light bar.
