How To: Get Snapchat's Super Bowl Filters & Show Your Eagles or Patriots Pride
Snapchat has been known to jazz it up for big events. They went deep on the Grammys, taking you behind the scenes — and adding a James Corden lens to boot. So when Snapchat had a super cool filter up their sleeve for Super Bowl LII, we weren't exactly shocked.Snapchat's Super Bowl LII filter will show your friends and family just how pumped you are for the big game with two unique views. Both filters will put virtual football helmets on your face — though you get to choose whether they're the Pats' or Eagles'. Raising your eyebrows rains confetti down, signifying that your team won the coveted Lombardi trophy.

Step 1: Put Your Snapchat in Selfie ModeAs you would with any filter that uses your face, turn the camera around to selfie mode. If it's not facing you already on the main Snapchat screen, either double-tap anywhere or tap the camera icon in the top-right corner to flip it around.

Step 2: Bring Up Your Filters & Go to the Super Bowl OnesBy long-pressing on screen, you'll bring up your Snapchat filters. Scroll over to the Super Bowl filters (they should be some of the first ones there). The Eagles filter has an Eagles logo on it, and the Patriots one has a Patriots logo.

Step 3: Make Confetti RainTo make confetti fall from the ceiling, raise your eyebrows. Make sure to snap it at the perfect moment! Don't forget that you can also take a video of it, allowing you to really savor those virtual colored pieces of paper. How are you watching the Super Bowl? Who do you want to win? How To: Play ChronoBlade on Your iPhone or Android Before Its Official Release

Netmarble's ChronoBlade, a mobile role-playing game, has made its way to iOS and Android by way of a soft launch that will make it exclusive to users in Canada and Singapore for a couple of months. Its console-quality graphics and extra features will surely make it a hit when it's released worldwide, but if you've got a little gumption, you can skip the wait and install it today.ChronoBlade gives you the option to choose from four main heroes, each with their own unique skill sets to suit your fighting style. As you progress through the game, you can unlock your hero's special abilities to make him even more powerful as he takes on hundreds of opponents in his seemingly never-ending quest to save the world. Looting and crafting is another great feature found in ChronoBlade. The treasures you find can be used to upgrade your hero's abilities and nab ever stronger weapons and armor. The hero's appearance is fully customizable, which is a great bonus, and any weapon or other equipment you apply, like helmets and breastplates, will show in-game.Though ChronoBlade is technically available for both Android and iOS, regular users can't download and play the game unless they live in Canada or Singapore. The game's official release timetable is still unknown, as ChronoBlade has been languishing in beta for at least five months. Nonetheless, if you'd like to try Chronoblade out before anyone else, there are ways you can do so without having to spend a fortune on plane tickets. Read further to find out how.Don't Miss: The 3 Best Gaming Phones Ranked

If you want a more detailed guide to walk you through this simple trick, feel free to click on the link provided below for more thorough instructions:Don't Miss: Change Your App Store Country to Download Region-Locked Apps & Games on Your iPhoneAfter changing your App Store region to Canada, you'll be all set to install ChronoBlade just like any other app. To do that, you can search for the game on the App Store, or just click on the link below to download it—just make sure you're using the same exact device where you signed into your Canadian iTunes account.Install ChronoBlade for free from the iOS App Store As a soft release, ChronoBlade is still technically in development and far from a finished product, so please take that into consideration before downloading. We tested the game on an iPad Pro running iOS 10.3, and a Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android Marshmallow, and found that it ran just fine with no noticeable issues. How To: 7 Tips to Help You Use Waze Like a Pro

How To: 7 Tips to Help You Use Waze Like a Pro
Waze is the go-to navigation app for millions of drivers, and it's easy to see why. Benefits such crowd-sourced traffic data, police trap locations, and road work avoidance are just the tip of the iceberg. It can almost be overwhelming, but with these simple tips, you'll master Waze and start navigating like an expert in no time.As intuitive as Waze is to use on iPhone and Android, there might be some features that you've overlooked and would like to learn more about. As such, we put together a list of seven tips that should help familiarize you with Waze and some of the features it has to offer.Don't Miss: Waze & Spotify Team Up for Easy Access to Music While You Drive

1. Set a Custom Voice (Or Record Your Own)Waze has a wide selection of voices that you can choose from. Setting a custom navigation voice for Waze is incredibly simple — to begin, just tap the speaker button in the lower-right corner of the screen to pull up the "Sound settings" tab.Select "Voice directions" next, then choose which language and voice you're most comfortable with. You'll notice that some voices will also verbalize street names, which is a great bonus and ensures smooth navigation. You can even record your very own custom voice to use on Waze, which can be done by simply tapping the "Record new voice" button within the "Sounds settings" tab, then following the prompts.Don't Miss: How to Use Different Voices for Navigation & Directions in Waze

2. Never Pay Tolls AgainBeing stuck on a toll road unexpectedly is never fun, but fortunately, you can set Waze to never give you directions that include toll routes. To start, swipe in from the left edge of the screen to pull up the side menu, then tap the cog-shaped settings button in the upper-left corner.Inside the settings page, scroll down and tap on "Navigation," then just toggle on the "Avoid toll roads" option. Once you've turned the setting on, you can exit the settings page and input your destination in Waze, and only toll-free routes will now automatically generate for you to choose from. Don't Miss: How to Avoid Toll Routes in Waze

3. Add or Remove Stops While You're Already NavigatingEven in the midst of a road trip, Waze lets you seamlessly add a pit stop to your current navigation to minimize any potential delays. Adding a stop is easy. While you're in navigation mode, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see your trip's summary tab. From there, if you're on iOS, you can choose what kind of stop you'd like to add by tapping the corresponding icon. Otherwise, just search for a specific business or location using the provided field. From there, tap on your desired stop once you've found it, and it'll automatically be added to your route. Adding a stop on iOS Removing a stop is just as easy — swipe in from the left edge of your screen to access your Waze dashboard, tap on the stop you wish to delete, then select "Remove" to get rid of it.Don't Miss: How to Add or Remove Stops While Navigating in Waze Please note that Waze only allows one stop to be added to any current route, so if you want to add another stop on top of the pit stop you already have, you'll either need to arrive at your pit stop, remove it from your current route, or create a separate route for it.

4. Go Hands-Free with 'Okay Waze' Voice CommandsFor those of us who puts safety ahead of everything else with regards to driving, Waze has a nifty hands-free feature that lets you issue voice commands for navigation and traffic info, leaving you free to focus on the road ahead.Hands-free mode is incredibly easy to enable. Start by swiping in from the left edge of your screen to open the side menu, then tap the settings cog and choose "Sound & Voice." From there, tap on "Talk to Waze," then tap on the toggle next to "Okay Waze" to turn the feature on, granting permission for the app to use your phone's mic along the way if prompted. Now you can access almost any feature in the app when you're on the road by simply saying "Okay Waze," followed by a command such as "drive home." You can even use this feature to report issues with traffic, hear your next turn, or see how long it's going to take to get to your destination.Don't Miss: How to Get Hands-Free Directions & Traffic Info with Waze It's worth mentioning that you will still need to tap on your device to confirm your target destination after voicing your command, and that the "Okay Waze" feature won't work if it's running in the background. Still, it's a better alternative than constantly finagling with your phone while driving

5. Download Routes for Offline Use (Android Only)If you're using an Android device, Waze lets you download routes that are then saved in the app's cache as a backup. This means that maps can be automatically retrieved by Waze when you encounter an area with poor cellular service, keeping your navigation smooth and relatively uninterrupted. Because it does away with the need to stop mid-trip to manually retrieve an offline route, Waze's offline feature makes for a much safer trip overall.Waze's offline feature is easy to enable, and is accessed through the app's settings page from within the side menu once navigation has started. Once inside, select "Display & Map" under Advanced Settings, then tap on "Data Transfer" all the way at the bottom. Once inside the page, tap on "Download traffic info" to turn the feature on. With "Download Traffic Info" set, Waze will automatically download your navigation routes and will keep navigating even if you run into spotty cellular service. It's worth noting, however, that vital traffic updates, such as accidents, police traps, and roadwork, will not function without cell service, as the app depends on an internet connection to provide real-time data.Don't Miss: How to Download Offline Routes with the Waze App for Android

6. Go Incognito to Avoid Prying EyesFor those of us who value privacy and would rather not broadcast our location for everyone to see, Waze has a simple solution: An option of rendering us invisible to other users. So if you're morally okay with not contributing traffic data (as going incognito disables this feature) you can go under the radar simply by opening your profile page from within the side menu, then tapping on the "Go invisible" toggle to turn it on. Don't Miss: How to Go Invisible on Waze to Keep Others from Seeing Your Location

7. Motorcycle-Friendly NavigationIn many ways, traveling on a motorcycle is different from four-wheeled navigation. In addition to faster travel times, bikes have the ability weave in and out of traffic a lot easier than regular cars and SUVs. With that in mind, Waze has a feature provides motorcycle-friendly routes to ensure efficient navigation while riding a Harley or a super bike. The feature is easy to enable, and basically involves going into Waze's side menu to access its settings, then tapping on "Navigation" once inside. From there, simply select "Vehicle Type" and tap on "Motorcycle" to enable two-wheel mode. With it set, Waze will always look for the most motorcycle-friendly routes whenever you ask for directions. If you frequently switch between your car and motorcycle, you have the added ability to quickly set your vehicle type, regardless of whether you've started navigation or not. To quickly set your vehicle type, simply tap on your location pin on the map to reveal and access your info card. You can then toggle your vehicle type between private and motorcycle by tapping on the vehicle tab in the upper-left corner of the card.Don't Miss: How to Get Motorcycle-Friendly Navigation Routes with Waze Of course, we'll be sure to post more tips on Waze as more features roll out in the future. Until then, be sure to share your thoughts in the comment section below and let us know what other features of Waze you'd like to learn more about.Follow Gadget Hacks on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flipboard Follow WonderHowTo on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Flipboard

How To: Fix Laggy Touchscreen Responsiveness on the OnePlus 3 & 3T
The OnePlus 3 and 3T are a pair of phones which allow you to do practically anything you want, because OnePlus is such a developer-friendly company. They almost always release kernel sources, and their phones sport an unlockable bootloader that doesn't void the warranty. But while their software is certainly solid (miles ahead of Samsung's TouchWiz), it still has room for improvement.Case in point, users have complained of laggy touchscreen responsiveness after a change made to the kernel in the last software update. This problem causes the device to seem as though it is lagging, and it's most noticeable while scrolling — try scrolling up and down in Instagram or a Wikipedia article and you'll notice that the screen doesn't begin moving until a second or two after you swipe. In order to remedy this annoying issue, developer eng.stk has created a Magisk module that will fix the problem while we wait on OnePlus to issue an update.Don't Miss: OnePlus 5 Rumor Roundup — 8 GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 & More

Then, tap on the yellow action button and select the ZIP file you just downloaded. Magisk will automatically install the module and prompt you to reboot, so tap the "Reboot" button to wrap up installation.

Step 3: Enjoy Lag-Free ScrollingOnce your phone has rebooted, you'll see that the Magisk module is now active. Try scrolling in Chrome or Instagram, and you'll immediately notice the difference. If Instagram isn't your thing, then go ahead and text your best friend. Tell them about this awesome module, I'm sure they'll appreciate the faster response time. If OnePlus does issue an update to fix the touchscreen latency in the near future, you can just as easily uninstall TP-FW through Magisk Manager — just tap on the little garbage can icon next to the module. How To: Exploring Stock Recovery

How To: Exploring Stock Recovery
It is really quite easy to flash a custom recovery to your Nexus, and there are many excellent tutorials on how to do so (see the How-To below):

The Easiest Way to Install a Custom Recovery on Your Nexus 7 Tablet « Nexus 7
Today, I'll show you how to quickly (major understatement there) and safely install a custom recovery on your Nexus 7 tablet! You can't mess up! Let's begin! I did not write the above article - many thanks to Danny LuoBut, did you know what Android contains a 'Stock Recovery' out-of-the-box? Granted, this is not particularly useful as it only contains a limited number of functions. However, if you do not want to install a custom recovery (whether that be for security or warranty reasons), this may be of some use to you (it is also quite fun just to explore too!).In this tutorial, we will show you how to access the Stock Android Recovery (bootloader state does not matter) and what you can do once you are there.
Accessing Stock Recovery on Your Nexus 7Firstly, power-off your device in the normal way (hold the power button until a dialog-box appears, then hit 'Power Off' and follow the prompt). Once fully powered-off, hold the 'Power' and 'Volume Down' buttons to access the bootloader. Use the volume keys to navigate to 'Recovery mode' and the 'Power' button to select it. You should see an Android on his back with a red 'Exclamation Triangle' above his chest. Finally, hold the 'Power' key, and then press the 'Volume Up' key; before releasing both. You should now see a number of options.
Using Stock RecoveryAll options in this mode are highlighted using the volume keys and selected using the 'Power' key.
Exploring Stock RecoveryIn Android L's recovery, the following options are listed (these may be different for other Android versions):'reboot system now' 'apply update from ADB' 'wipe data/factory reset' 'wipe cache partition' 'reboot to bootloader' 'power down'
The OptionsThe first option is pretty self-explanatory: it pings you straight into Android. The second is a bit more cryptic: it allows you to push update '.zip's from your PC to your Nexus using 'adb sideload'. Essentially, it allows you to manually update your device (without going through an OTA {'Over The Air'}).Number three does exactly what it says: it factory resets Android. The fourth option wipes the cache partition of your Nexus. The cache is where all your temporary files are stored - files that help speed up your device and ensure everything runs smoothly. They build up over time - and it can be good to wipe them now and then. Note that none of your messages, app data or settings will be wiped.Option number five is also quite obvious: it pings you back to your bootloader interface (the screen that we used to get to the recovery), so you can make changes from there. And, finally, 'power down' turns off your device. On next boot, it will go back to normal Android.
RoundupThat is what the Stock Recovery does. It is not nearly so useful as a custom recovery such as TWRP or ClockworkMod, but it may help you now and then and it is quite fun to explore.

Tor for Android: How to Stay Anonymous on Your Phone

Tor for Android: How to Stay Anonymous on Your Phone
Keeping your online data and identity private is an uphill battle, but with the anonymity network Tor, you have a pretty decent line of defense from prying eyes. But while Tor is great for desktop users, since they can simply install a Tor browser or plugin, it's a bit more complicated on Android. The difficulty lies in getting all the data your device sends out pushed through the Tor network, which anonymizes by sending data through various servers around the world.
Requirements for TorBefore installing the three apps needed to get Tor up and running on your Android device, you need to first make sure it's rooted. Additionally, because the required apps are not found on the Google Play Store, you'll need to make sure you enabled app installation from Unknown sources.Once you have root access, you'll be able to download and install OrWall, Orbot, and Orweb to get the full Tor experience on your phone.

Step 1: Install OrWallDeveloped by Swiss privacy activist Cédric Jeanneret, OrWall is essentially a firewall for your Android that will force all of your apps (or just the ones you select) to use the Tor network to transmit all of their data. If an app is unable to use the Tor network to access the internet, then that data connection will be blocked.Download OrWall (.apk) After installing the APK, complete the set up wizard and reboot your Android to activate the background process. When you're back up, you can open the Apps section of OrWall to begin selecting which apps you would like to have use the Tor network.

Step 2: Install OrbotIn its simplest form, Orbot, by the great people over at the Guardian Project, is the connector between your device and the Tor network. It facilitates the passage of data from your apps to the Tor network, but it can only do so with apps that support data being sent through a proxy. Because of that limitation, it's necessary to have both Orbot and OrWall installed on your device, since OrWall will help with apps which do not have proxy support.Download Orbot (.apk) The first time you open the app, you'll have to complete the set-up wizard, but afterwards, all you have to do is long-press the Power button in the center to activate Orbot. If at any time you want to change your Tor Identity to a different IP address, you can swipe across the main screen, which will come in handy if you don't want to stray on the same IP address for too long.

Step 3: Install OrwebLast up we have the companion browser the developers over at the the Guardian Project created for Orbot, called Orweb. While Orbot creates the connection to Tor, Orweb is what actually lets you use it to surf the web.Since your data will be bouncing around through the vast labyrinth of international Tor servers, it will feel like your connection has slowed down, but that this the price you must pay for anonymity. As an added bonus, Orweb can also bypass most network restrictions so you can finally get in some quality Reddit browsing even through your office's firewall.Download Orweb (.apk) There is no setup required to begin using Orweb—just open the app and wait for the homepage to display a "success" message letting you know that it has been connected to the Tor network. The Guardian Project has also been working on an improved version of Orweb named Orfox, which adds features like tabbed browsing and a way to properly request mobile versions of websites. However, Orfox is still in its early stages and not supported on Lollipop devices, but if you're still on KitKat, be sure to give it a try.Download Orfox (.apk)
Know You're 'Anonymous'With these three apps, you'll be able to keep most of your data secure, but if the dozens of security breaches and NSA scandals over the past few months have told us anything is that no one's data is ever 100% secure online. While Tor does a great job at rerouting and masking your online presence, you may also want to check out my guide on removing Google from your Android as well.Follow Android Hacks over on Facebook and Twitter, or Gadget Hacks over on Facebook, Google+, and Twitter, for more Android tips.
